Tuition

Learn to sail in the very latest Wayfarer or in one of our  Laser Picos.

  • Absolutely no previous experience is required.
  • Taster sails for complete beginners.
  • Learn to sail with your children or share a half day with the family.
  • Enjoy an exploration sail with a RYA instructor.
  • Choose from a 1½hour, 3 hour, or full day sail.
  • Children, adult and family sessions.

 Instructors

Proprietor John Whitelock is also the Chief Instructor.   He is a RYA Senior Instructor and Licensed Local Boatman.  He worked at Portsmouth Sailing Centre for 6 years and was Principal of Hamble Dinghy Sailing  for 10 years. He is very experienced at teaching sailing to both adults and children.
During the school holidays he is assisted by a number of highly competent, RYA qualified seasonal staff.

Salcombe Dinghy Sailing is AALA Licensed.   This means we have undergone visits, checks and safety inspections and can teach unaccompanied children.
